‘Five-a-day’ is a slogan for healthy eating promoting the intake of a least five portions of fruit or vegetables per day. Inspired by this I shot five images of vegetables portraying them in an unusual way. All images have been taken with long exposure times and mixed lighting.
Quite a while ago I read an article about Russian photographer Elena Shumilova who takes beautiful, really stunning images of her children. She has only been photographing for about 4 years but her use of light is absolutely incredible. You should really browse through her images on her flickr site. Her ‘key elements’ are shooting

As I had planned, I did some experiments with cyanotypes. I really love this process now (at least while it’s summer and the sun is out to expose the images). My first problem had been that I wanted to use the rougher paper but that a lot of detail was lost on it. I read
Children, water sports and a love for the great outdoors in the UK will almost always lead you to campsites. We found our favourite one in Wales and while the big boys were happy surfing and the little ones happy playing in the dunes and on the beach during the day, I was happy getting out

Our whole KCC class is really excited to present our works and there will be lots of different genres and a number of different techniques on display. Have a look at our website and catalogue! The private view will be on Thursday, 7th July, 18.30-21.00.

A glass plate covered with an emulsion of alcohol and resin is exposed in the sun and the image then developed over turpentine fumes. The process was invented by Niépce and Daguerre in 1832. They used silver plates instead of glass plates which they exposed in

Initially, I was at a complete loss, what to do but then I discovered the website alternativephotography.com that introduces many techniques and processes. Also, the book Experimental Photography: A
