During half term I had some adorable kids for a sibling photo session in Maida Vale in the studio. These brothers were so sweet with their little sister! You could really see and feel how proud and protective they both are of her.
As April is Autism Awareness month, I will be linking to another photographer at the end of this post. As a Spectrum inspired photographer, she is documenting a day in the life of a family with an autistic child.
But first, I will use this session to address the most common questions I get when clients want to book with me
What should we wear?
Their mum did a brilliant job selecting clothes for them: they all stayed in the same colour scheme and obviously felt comfortable in them. I think the light blue/ dark blue was a good choice for the session.
When you book a session with me, be it a mini session or a full portrait session, you will receive plenty of advice on what to wear (and what not to wear) for the session. For a full portrait session you even have the option to change your children’s outfit during the session, so you can get images in different colour schemes. In this case, as it was a mini session slot that only lasts 30min, we didn’t want to loose time by getting the children changed.
Will there be individual images of each child?
Yes, definitely! As well a selection of images with all siblings together, I will take various images of each child on their own, in mini sessions as well as in full portrait sessions.
The little girl had been in my studio before, over a year ago. Already then, she was absolutely adorable. Not surprisingly, she was again so, so sweet, and that in spite of feeling not too well.
Will there be different backdrops?
Understandably, during a full portrait session there is much more time to change backdrops. For example to a black one for some oomph or white for these happy, candid images. Obviously we will also have more time to capture different poses as well as expressions of each child.

Such sweet siblings! I love the colours in their wardrobe.
Thank you. I think the mother chose these clothes so well for them!
These are just so beautiful! I love their color scheme and love that you offer so much guidance for your clients, look at the result of that! They are so beautiful and their connection is wonderful!
Thank you so much!
Those are some lovely portraits!
Thank you so much!
I love how you let your clients know what to expect from and how to make the most of a sibling session with you!
Thank you. I believe the more relaxed my clients are, the better the images will be. And it’s easier to relax if you know what is going to happen.
