Our last half term break led us to Dorset, to the middle of nowhere. It was just perfect! While I saw picture opportunities everywhere, the kids couldn’t wait to go exploring. We decided a while ago not to call it ‘walking’ or ‘hiking’ but ‘exploring’: it made all the difference… On the other hand that means that you have to let them decide on the way as much as possible, and that sometimes leads to almost inaccessible and often wet places…
